It takes a village to raise a child
How does it feel in everyday life?
💕 When a toddler who’s never seen me before, comes up to me while I’m eating- at a tribal wedding celebration- and gestures for me to feed her. And then she eats from my hand…
💕 When a child hands me his sandal so I would remove the thorn stuck in it.
💕 When another toddler calls me “Mama”.
💕 When, everywhere I go, little girls and boys cling to me with ease and comfort- just like these little ones in this picture.
It melts my heart and broadens it.
It tickles every fiber of the mother in me.
It happens just like that — in thousands of small, wonderful, everyday moments.
This is the simple, taken for granted reality of community.
Can we be inspired to live closer to the original human life- community life?
